History of M.L. Moran
M.L. Moran started as a change management agent for the crisis and turnaround situations. Its founders personally led about 25 such restructurings of the companies subsequently acquired by strategic investors. Since 1996, Vaclav Novak has successfully restructured several distressed companies in the Czech Republic. In 2000, he was joined by another crisis manager, Zdenek Smejkal, and together they conducted and completed turnaround of Vitkovice, one of the largest steel-making and engineering groups in the Czech Republic with 12,000 employees. Jointly, they have then shifted their focus from being management agents to becoming co-founders of M.L. Moran, a boutique investment management business.
Direct participation of M.L. Moran's principals in the CEO and top management roles led to successful restructuring and transformation of some 25 companies subsequently acquired by strategic investors. In 2001, founders shifted their focus from being management agents to investment managers and investors.
Today, M.L. Moran participates only in equity-participation projects. The company transformed itself into a standard investment company. Founders of M.L. Moran remain active in day-to-day operations and business management.
